Asian Markets Tumble as Tech Sell-Off Sparks Investor Panic
Stocks in Asian markets plunged during Friday due to massive sell-offs within the technology sector amid fears from investors on overvalued stock rallies and escalating hardware prices. The Kospi Index in South Korea had a circuit-breaker trigger when it tumbled by 8% and finally closed down by 5.8%, whereas in Japan, the Nikkei 225 Index fell by more than 4% following a 12.5% fall from SoftBank. This market panic came after a dramatic drop of 6% in the stocks of Apple after announcing an increase in the prices of iPads and MacBooks owing to increased prices of computer chips. Moreover, Microsoft has increased the prices of its Xbox gaming consoles. Financial experts have observed that escalating consumer prices and huge expenditures on AI infrastructure have raised doubts about valuations within the tech space.
